an explanation

I thought that a good way to begin would be to explain the title of this blog. I still think that; ergo, that is what I am going to do. First, it is in reference to a running joke between a friend and I concerning my resemblance to a monkey. Since (metaphorically), I do want to and try to fly, I liked the title. Second, it's meant as a little nod to Wicked, the extraordinary Broadway musical. (to the less enlightened, there are flying monkeys in the show) Third, and so obvious I hesitate to say it, it's in reference to the old "as the crow flies." Ecce! My firstest blog.
